LobsterLog ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and disclosed when you use the LobsterLog mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information:
- To create an account and sync your data across devices, we collect your Email Address. This is used solely for authentication purposes to ensure only you can access your logbook.
- Logbook Data:
- We collect the data you voluntarily enter into the app, including catch weights (lbs), prices, weather conditions, boat/captain names, and personal notes.
- Subscription Data:
- We use RevenueCat to manage Pro subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect a unique, anonymous identifier from your device to manage your subscription status. No personal logbook data is shared with RevenueCat.
- Location Data:
- We do NOT collect, track, or store your device's precise GPS location. Your specific trap locations and fishing zones are not tracked by this application.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Service Delivery:
- To provide, maintain, and improve the LobsterLog application.
- Data Syncing:
- We store your data in the cloud (using Google Firebase) so you do not lose your catch history if your device is lost or damaged.
- Payment Processing:
- All in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed securely through the Apple App Store. LobsterLog does not collect or store your credit card or financial information.
3. Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase:
- We use Firebase for authentication and as our primary database (Cloud Firestore).
- RevenueCat:
- We use RevenueCat to facilitate and validate in-app subscriptions.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
- Retention:
- We retain your information for as long as your account is active.
- Your Rights:
- You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. You can do this within the app by navigating to Settings > Delete Account. This action is permanent and removes all email and history from our servers immediately.
